222-day position; work hours may vary

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Perform casework service to help students resolve personal, emotional, and social problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their ability to enjoy the benefits of the educational process. Plan, develop and coordinate family and community engagement programs.  Responsible for identification of families and children in need of social services and implementing program activities. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education/Certification:

Associates Degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Intervention, Sociology, Public Administration or Business Administration, preferred. May substitute relevant experience for education.

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Knowledge of case management services

Knowledge and skill in administrative tasks

Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers, parents, and students

Knowledge of prevention and intervention strategies, including behavior management interventions

Awareness and ability to access community resources

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

 

Experience:

Two years of experience in education, mental health, community services, events or office administration

Experience with parent and family programs a plus
